Full service banquet & convention facility located in the western suburbs of Chicago, IL is seeking an Event Sales Manager to join our team. The Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling social & corporate events, securing new/repeat accounts, and executing tactical sales plans to maximize the profitability while maintaining guest satisfaction. Individual must have customer first attitude, and be a self-starter.
Ideal Candidate:
Ø The ideal candidate will have a college degree or equivalent business experience as well as a minimum of 2 years of industry experience in banquet event sales, or similar role.
Ø Experience working with clients in the South Asian Market and diverse cultural backgrounds a plus.
Ø Ability to speak & understand South Asian language(s) a plus.
Ø Must be detail oriented, organized, efficient, and a multi-tasker.
Ø Experience in team leadership, project management, budgeting, and goal setting is important as is having strong interpersonal skills.
Ø Requires outstanding ability to develop relationships, and work with clients from a variety of backgrounds.
Ø Effective communication skills, and the ability to negotiate, influence and sell professionals and/or prospective guests.
Ø Ability to work closely with team to ensure guest expectations is exceeded.
Ø A strong working knowledge of the food and beverage industry.
Ø Ability to be self-motivated and a self-starter.
Ø Attend to clients and guests the day of the function to insure that needs and requests are met with banquet manager and banquet staff.
Ø Conduct follow-up survey with clients after function to ascertain that needs were met and service was as promised. Follow up information must be completed and given to owners for review.
