Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) is a foundation established to provide support for socio-economic development programmes in the Niger Delta. The foundation will be funding programmes in partnership with other donors from the public and private sector, seeking to create a dynamic, multi-stakeholder partnership that takes full advantage of synergies involving diverse organizations and interests. The Economic Development Center (EDC) will generate opportunities for sustainable and equitable economic development in the Niger Delta. The foundation is seeking for a qualified candidate to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Security Officer

JOB LOCATION: Warri , Nigeria

Responsibilities

a. Lead operational risk management activities and assessment

b. Identify protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with foundation

strategic plan

c. Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security

breaches, and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such

breaches as necessary

d. Oversee the continuous monitoring and protection of facilities, personnel and

information systems.

e. Maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and other

related government agencies

f. Manage the development and implementation of security policy, standards,

guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security. Physical

protection responsibilities will include asset protection, workplace violence

prevention, access control systems, video surveillance and more.

g. Environmental scanning on threat, determine level of risk and apply security

phases.

h. Interfacing with security departments in other organizations

i. Manage security escorts to support the needs of the center

j. Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security measures

k. Create, maintain and improve safety in the center.

 Educational Qualification

A bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or any relevant field. A Masters degree in a relevant field

is an added advantage.

Knowledge, skill and experience

Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader who is able to

communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and nontechnical

staff.

Must have a solid understanding of information technology and information

security.

  10 – 12 years progressive experience working in a security department /

organization / agency.

  Must have strong working knowledge of pertinent law and the law enforcement

community.

  Consensus-builder, while still results-oriented and commitment focused

  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  Experience with risk analysis and contingency planning
