Vacancy for an Accounting Analyst in US-TX-Houston

Overview:

This position, in the International Accounting Group, provides a good opportunity to acquire/develop strong working knowledge of SAP, gain exposure to country-specific statutory reporting requirements, and gain exposure to various accounting issues while performing monthly closeout activities and statutory reporting data for the assigned international exploration and /or production companies.

Responsibilities:

Perform wire clearings for cash transactions, record other appropriate entries to reflect the monthly activity (inter-company activity, loans, dividends, interest, expat income tax assistance, hydrocarbon inventory adjustments, accruals, sales invoices, and Waha joint interest bills) for Libya and other assigned company codes. Reconcile the statutory financial statements to the SAP GAAP books for assigned company codes. Perform periodic (monthly or quarterly) account reconciliations for the assigned companies Perform monthly internal variance analysis Assist with external and internal audits as required.

Qualifications:

Degree: Bachelors Major Discipline: Accounting Year Experience Required: Four years or more of accounting and analysis experience within International Exploration and Production. Travel Required (%): Some required US Payroll: yes
